Which Rachael Ray cookware set is better? Also, where can I buy corningware, like a 9×13 glass casserore/dish?

21 May

Hard Anodized; Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set; or Stainless Stell (much less popular on Amazon.com).

Also, is the anodized one safe? I’ve read they are relatively nonstick. What about the Enamel?

Hard Anodized:

Enamel:

Stainless Steel:

Please keep in mind that I am a VERY VERY BASIC cook. Plus I’m on a budget. I’m just tired of using my Club Aluminum my sis-in-law gave me in 1993. It’s embarrassing to use.

Also — where can I buy glass cookware (9×13, etc) cheaply?

Thanks!!!!

What is the best inexpensive non-stick cookware?

20 May

I’m looking to purchase some new pots and pans and unfortuantly I don’t have a lot to spend on them, and I don’t want crappy cookware. What I am wanting is something that is non-stick and dishwasher safe. Any recommendations?

buying a cookware set?

20 May

hello,
I am looking around for a cookware set (or piece by piece). However I am having a hard time. currently I have a set from our wedding but i want to change them for a stainless steel. But the way it seems all stainless steel (regardless of brand, all clad, calphalon) are going to stick. Is this true? My main concern is not having food stuck at the bottom. It seems that the pots that are black on the inside (sorry for my ignorance with cookware jargon) are the true nonsticks?
i am so lost in the sea of pots and pans. i need direction. i want to spend about $300 or less (max max max $400) and really like the look of stainless steel and actually seeing the colors of your food at the bottom of the pot. I’m really not crazy about the dark pots. But if the stainless sticks then I might be forced to go the ‘dark’ side again.
so what exactly is the difference between calphalon contemporary and tri ply?
if I were to go with the piece by piece choice…is there a ‘must have’ piece that you would recommend to spend a bit more money on and not so much on others?? I want pieces that will last me a very long time. And I love to cook however I am in the beginning stages and thus don’t abuse the pots just yet..:)
ugh so many choices.
thanks again!!!

Which cookware set is better?

19 May

I am looking to buy a cookware set and I found 2 great ones, but they look similar so I cannot choose. The sets are a Cuisinart 10 piece set

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Classic-Stainless-Steel-10-Piece-Cookware/dp/B00008CM68/ref=pd_ts_hg_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden

and a KitchenAid 10 piece set

http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-Essentials-10-Piece-Stainless-Cookware/dp/B0001FSYQ6/ref=pd_ts_hg_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden

Can anyone with experience with these sets tell me how they are and which one you think is better. Thanks!

What are some brands of high quality cookware?

I am looking for something stainless steel with a copper or aluminum core for even heat distribution.

How do you remove the protective seal from new copper cookware?

18 May

I am about to purchase copper cookware from an individual. The set is new and never used to cook with. I person says that I have to remove the protective seal first before using the cookware. Does anyone know about this procedure? Also, if you know…what is the fastest and easiest way to do this? Thanks very much for any help I can get on this subject.

Which cookware set is the best?

18 May

I’m moving out of my parents house and will need to buy my own set of cookware. Price is not an issue because I am a firm believer that a good cookware set is worth the extra cash. Something to keep in mind though is that I will not have a dishwasher.

Can a pin hole in the enamel on enamel-coated cast iron cookware cause enamel to crack?

18 May

We just got a shipment of enamel-coated cast iron cookware today and the skillet seems to have unfinished enamel on it. There’s a small, pin-sized hole on the bottom on the inside. We were wondering if anything could get between the enamel and the cast iron or if it might chip at a later date?

Or any other problems it might cause? Please let us know if we need to return the product.

Can you give me your opinion of which cookware set is best and why?

I want to buy a cookware set for a Christmas present. I am looking at Cuisenart, KitchenAid, and Rachel Ray expecially. I want a set that is above all durable. I also need a set with good sized pots, as this will be used by a family of 5. Which cookware do you suggest?
